The CreativeHearts Academy Players Jr. Present
The House at Pooh Corner
Friday and Saturday, February 10 and 11, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. Clairmont Hills Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Tickets: $5 per person
Christopher Robin has decided to run away with his friends Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger and the rest. Probably they'll go to the North Pole or to the South Pole. For there is a dark, mysterious threat that he's to be sent away to Education. Nobody knows exactly what or where that is, and if he's sent to such a distant place, what can his friends possibly do without him? So it's generally agreed that they'll run away. As the situation becomes clearer, Christopher Robin isn't quite so sure that running away is the answer.
You will be delighted with this performance presented by the younger ("Jr.") actors that are part of CreativeHearts Academy. Please invite your friends and family to enjoy with you this show based on A.A. Milne’s classic book.
Call the church office (404-634-6231) for ticket information.

Church Approves Recommendation from the Building and Grounds Committee for the Sale of the Sylvania Drive House
This recommendation was presented in Church Conference on August 18, 2010, for the first time for information and discussion and again at a called conference on Sunday, September 12, 2010, at 5:00 p.m., where it was approved unanimously. See below more on the background the recommendation that was approved.
Background
From the Building and Grounds Committee:
Aaron Kuglin and his family have recently moved out of the church owned house on Sylvania Drive. Due to the age of the house and the continual cost of maintenance and upkeep, the Building and Grounds Committee recommends that it is time to sell the house with the proceeds to be used for church purposes to be determined later. One possible use might be to help pay for replacement of the HVAC system that we know will likely be needed within the next few years, but the committee is not bringing that as part of the recommendation but only for information
From the Leadership Team:
The Leadership Team approved the recommendation to sell the house. One idea presented for the use of the money was to half the proceeds, using one half for such Building and Grounds needs that may arise as stated above and the other half to be used to help subsidize staff or intern housing, as that has been the purpose and practice of having the house. While the Leadership Team thinks such a plan would be a good one for the use of the proceeds for the sale, with the likelihood of a major expenditure for HVAC replacement in the next few years, the LT elected not to designate at this time the use of the proceeds other than for church use. This gives maximum flexibility for the church to make decisions as needed in the future.
Recommendation:
The Building and Grounds Committee, joined by the Leadership Team, recommends that the church-owned house on Sylvania Drive be sold with the receipts being placed in the Georgia Baptist Foundation and the proceeds used for church use as determined by the church at a later date. We direct the trustees of the church to sign any documents related to the marketing and sale of the house as determined by the Building and Grounds Committee. This recommendation authorizes the church to enter into a contract to sell the house with the minimum offer accepted under this recommendation to be $200,000. Any offer that the Building and Grounds Committee wants to consider that is under $200,000 must be brought back to the Leadership Team and the church for approval.
